Interactive Media BSc Students win the University wide Dragon’s Den competition.

On March 19th, a group of our Interactive Media BSC students won the Engineers in Business Fellowship (EIBF) Dragon’s Den competition.

Lewis Hill, Adrian Maidman, Samuel Foster, Wan Yun Law, and Emily Martin, are the founders of their company 'Lighthouse'. The team of five 3rd-year Interactive Media undergraduates are from the Department of Theatre Film, Television and Interactive Media.

Their product North Start is a tracker device associated bespoke software that pinpoints and alerts their trusted carers, when vulnerable individuals leave a designated ‘safe zone’.

"Taking part in the Business Innovation & Entrepreneurship course was such an enjoyable experience for our teamWith all of us entering the course with little to no knowledge of the business world, to coming out with 'Lighthouse's' strong business plan and product that won us the University Wide Dragon’s Den pitch, it’s safe to say that we have learned and developed a lot of invaluable knowledge and skills that we will be able to adapt and use in the next steps of each of our journey’s." ~ Emily Martin
