QS World Rankings 2018
Archaeology has kept its position in the top 5 UK rankings.
This week the Department confirmed its place among the world's most highly regarded departments for the subject of Archaeology. The department is ranked 5th in the UK and 12th in the world in the QS rankings.
Published annually since 2011, the QS World University rankings by subject highlight the world’s top universities in a range of popular subject areas, covering 48 subjects in 2018. Universities are scored according to academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact (number of citations per paper).
The subjects of Social Policy and Administration (joint 20) and English Literature and Language (27) at York remain in the world top 30. History, Psychology and Development Studies were all ranked in the world top 100.
