The York Sustainability Network brings together alumni, staff and students who are passionate about overcoming the challenges facing our planet and creates a forum to share new ideas and solutions to create a more sustainable world.

Join our iNaturalist project and connect with alumni around the world to share your wildlife sightings. From the local York tansy beetle to a tropical saltwater crocodile, alumni have already documented over 400 different species.

By sharing your findings you are also providing vital data to help protect and conserve global biodiversity.

Sustainability has been an important part of York for many years and is one of the key research themes. The launch of the 2022-30 Sustainability Plan also sees the University committing to becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
