BREAST CANCER: GUIDANCE

Improving outcomes in breast cancer (update): cancer guidance

Background

This systematic review supported the update of NICE's breast cancer guidance. Further recommendations have been added and some of the original recommendations have been updated.

Findings

The key recommendations of the guidance update are that women should be treated by a multidisciplinary team; they should be treated promptly; services should be more consistent; and intensive, hospital-based follow-up is not beneficial.
