The YESI International Fellows scheme provides an opportunity for University of York (UoY) staff and international academic partners based in countries listed on the current DAC list of Official Development Assistance (ODA) recipients to visit each other’s institution to:
Foster new professional relationships and develop interdisciplinary ways of working on environmental sustainability issues
Collaborate on new research proposals and outputs
Build and strengthen international research networks
These activities benefit both institutions, generating high-quality outputs that align with shared strategic priorities in global engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration and research impact.
In addition to support from the UoY collaborator and YESI team, our YESI International Ambassadorsplay an important role in providing support and guidance to international academics visiting York as part of the YESI International Fellows scheme. They serve as welcoming faces, helping visitors navigate their stay in York, offering assistance with local queries, and facilitating networking opportunities beyond their academic hosts.
