Event details

Following our inspiring discussion in December, it’s time to get hands-on. How can we create a space to document our relationship with campus trees?

Join us for an experimental session at the Yews as we refine our ideas for a "living visitor book." Drawing on global traditions—from East Asian prayer ribbons to English Clootie trees—we’ll be testing out ways to leave messages, offerings, and art without harming the environment.

What we’ll be exploring:

  • Woven Networks: Experimenting with biodegradable string, ribbons, and seeded paper.

  • Ritual & Reflection: Discussing "thinking stools" for meditation or even participatory dance.

  • Giving Back: Considering bird feeders and ceremonial composting.

What to bring: Your creativity! We’ll provide basic craft materials (string, paper, pens), but feel free to bring any sustainable materials you’d like to test.
