York Award

Being sustainable can help your CV! Our training for the Student Switch Off ambassador and Green Impact Project Assistants counts towards the York Award, allowing you recognition for the things you’ve taken part in outside of your degree course! Find out more here.

GreenSTEMS is a sustainable science group at the University of York open to students, researchers and staff who are interested in sustainability. It is aimed at scientists, from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to social sciences, as each discipline provides an important angle from which to look and address our common sustainability challenges. GreenSTEMS organises informative and social events for everyone at the University of York and the general public. Our events include themed social seminars/mini-conferences showcasing research by early career scientists in York and beyond, followed by socialising over a drinks reception. If you’re interested in being part of organising a sustainability themed event, be it a social seminar, workshop, outreach programme then do get in touch.
