Update: USS/ Capita data breach

As you may have read in our previous update, Capita, a supplier to the USS Pension Scheme, suffered a data breach earlier this year which included personal data relating to scheme members.

USS have been contacting people directly via email and have recently offered affected individuals free access to a 12 month membership to Identity Plus, an identity / credit monitoring service provided by Experian. The deadline for this offer is August 26 so make sure you have checked any unread emails from USS.  

Please note that you will be charged if you choose to continue with this membership after a year.

We’ll continue to highlight the latest news relating to the breach as we receive it.

Please remember that USS will not call you in relation to this issue unless you ask them to. Any unsolicited calls claiming to represent USS, Experian or Capita are very likely to be malicious and should be treated with suspicion.
