Women in Science Rising Talent Programme

Posted on 14 January 2020

Apply now for the 2020 L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science UK and Ireland Rising Talent Programme.

Five outstanding female early-career scientists will receive a bursary of £15,000.

This year, L’Oréal UK and Ireland is dedicating one of five awards to outstanding scientific work promoting sustainable development. The aim is to contribute to the strengthening of research and advancing the achievement of the scientific evidence base within the interdisciplinary Sustainability Science. The new Sustainable Development prize will sit alongside four other established awards, dedicated to research in the fields of Physical Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Computing and Life Science.

The awards have been designed to provide flexible and practical financial support to ensure these women further their research and careers. With the flexible grant, winners may choose to spend their fellowship on buying scientific equipment, paying for childcare, travel costs or whatever they need to continue their research. In addition to financial support, each year past and present fellows receive training and networking opportunities supported by L’Oréal.

The awards will be made at a ceremony in London on 21 May.

Candidates can apply online at www.forwomeninscience.com by the deadline of 27 January at 17:00 GMT.
