Ruth Kelly will be taking up the post of Fund for Global Human Rights post-doctoral fellowship at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, Oxford

At the end of October, Ruth Kelly will take up the Fund for Global Human Rights post-doctoral fellowship at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, Oxford. She will conduct research on diverse cultural perspectives on human rights and also design curricula and materials for the Symposium on Strength and Solidarity for Human Rights which is aimed at building resilience in human rights organisations globally: https://www.strengthandsolidarity.org/
 
During her PhD at York, she has explored the potential for using stories like the European folktale Red Riding Hood and the Kiganda origin story of Nambi and Kintu to help activists in Uganda reimagine justice and articulate new political claims. She has also worked with artists and activists in Bangladesh, Uganda and the UK exploring how the arts can expand political space and imagination and inspire development alternatives: https://www.developmentalternatives.net/
