Alfred Moore edits a new book

Democracy and Competition: Rethinking the Forms, Purposes, and Values of Competition in Democracy, edited by Alfred Moore and Samuel Bagg, has now been published under the Proceedings of the British Academy. The book features exciting new work by Natasha Piano, Jamie Druckman, André Bächtiger, Fabio Wolkenstein, Lisa Herzog, Emilee Chapman, Mark Warren, Shai Agmon, Alex Kirshner, and Simone Chambers. Though the contributors disagree on plenty of things, they all agree that it's time for political theory to take competition more seriously; moving beyond simply asking whether "more" or "less" of it is required. The book showcases a number of innovative and promising ideas about how to do that.
