York Fusion Scholarships

We are pleased to offer four scholarships to support students studying the MSc Fusion Energy Science and Technologies.

Applications for 2026/27 are open until Monday 24 August 2026, 2pm BST.

A small number of scholarships are available to candidates enrolling on the MSc Fusion Energy Science and Technologies in September 2026, provided by the FOSTER project (Fusion Opportunities in Skills, Training, Education and Research).

Successful applicants will each receive a reduction to their fees of £2,500. They will also be invited to join our Alumni Network after their studies are complete.

Eligibility

Open to International (including EU) and UK (home) students.

To be eligible you must have an offer for a place on the MSc Fusion Energy Science and Technologies course starting in September 2026.

How to apply

Application deadline: Monday 24 August 2026, 2pm BST

To apply for this scholarship you must write a short personal statement between 200 and 400 words.

You should give your name and student number and tell us why you are interested in studying fusion.

How we allocate

These scholarships are competitive and will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and interest in fusion energy (as shown by the personal statement).

We will aim to notify applicants of the result of their scholarship application by Monday 31 August 2026.
