Undergraduate funding

If you make York your firm choice, and are applying for the Single Subject degree, you will be eligible for a Departmental Academic Excellence or Widening Participation Bursary worth £1000 in your first year.

You don't need to apply for this separately. If you firmly accept a single subject Philosophy place and are awarded a place, you will be considered for the bursary. Currently we offer two kinds of bursaries:

Academic Excellence Bursary
Awarded on the basis of outstanding academic achievement in relation to other applicants - 2 available.

Widening Participation Bursary
Applicants are eligible when identified by the university as falling within the 'widening participation' remit, eg care leavers, low participation neighbourhoods. Awards are made on the basis of academic performance in relation to other applicants who qualify - 3 available.

Questions about these bursaries can be sent to philosophy-admissions@york.ac.uk
