The University of York has launched the Enterprise Awards 2024 to celebrate outstanding contributions to York and North Yorkshire's business community.
The awards aim to highlight the talent driving economic growth in York and North Yorkshire

The awards ceremony, which will take place on Wednesday, 17th July at the Merchant Adventurers Hall, brings together industry leaders, innovators, and change-makers from across the region in a celebration of excellence, innovation, and impact in the business community.

Business owners and entrepreneurs across York and North Yorkshire can submit their nominations for the awards between now and 31 May, with the winners being announced at the ceremony in July.

Economic growth

The awards aim to highlight the talent driving economic growth and social impact in the region, and showcase the achievements and contributions to the enterprise ecosystem of York and North Yorkshire.

Professor Kiran Trehan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Partnerships and Engagement at the University of York, said: "This year’s awards celebrate unwavering spirit of entrepreneurialism, exemplary leadership, and commitment to social responsibility exhibited by businesses and individuals across various sectors.

“We encourage deserving businesses and individuals who are making a positive difference in their communities and industries to apply and be recognised for their achievements."

Invaluable support

Andy Callaghan, previous award winner from Jammed, said: "York is a fantastic place to do business, with ample opportunities for growth and a supportive ecosystem. The University's support has been invaluable, and winning the award last year was a significant boost and really encouraging recognition for my business."

Applications are open across six categories to any company within the University community, York, or North Yorkshire. Shortlisted applicants will receive complimentary tickets to the awards ceremony, providing an opportunity to network and celebrate with peers and industry leaders.
