The Hull York Medical School Open Lecture

Work stress is commonplace and can often influence both our performance and the way in which we interact with colleagues, friends and family. Although some people are familiar with the impact that stress can have on their mental state and well-being, not everyone is aware that stress starts in the body as a physical reaction, which works its way into our emotions, thoughts, reactions and, ultimately, our lives.

About the speaker

Professor Christina van der Feltz-Cornelis

Christina was appointed as one of the anniversary inspirational research leaders at the University of York, and is Chair of Psychiatry and Epidemiology within the Mental Health and Addiction Research Group, based at the University of York. Christina's lecture will demonstrate how we can pick and choose our reactions to stress, and the impact resilience can have on stress management.
