3-minute thesis

Understanding the meaning of words can be impaired following brain damage, for example, following a stroke. Context, for these patients, becomes vitally important in determining what words mean, and they can rely heavily on the cues given by the facial expression of the person speaking to them. Join Lucilla Lanzoni, from the Department of Psychology, as she explains how her research can help to improve communication with these groups, and what effect this increased understanding of the brain's function can have on the artificial intelligence of the future.
