Shakespeare's Rose Theatre Talk

The Tempest is both a strange and wonderful play and a play about strangeness and wonder. Come along to this free talk and explore some of its strangeness and some of its wonder through looking at its textual detail with Professor Judith Buchanan. Knowing more about the detail of the play and of its history in performance will also enhance your enjoyment of the production at Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre

Professor Judith Buchanan

Professor Judith Buchanan is Professor of Film and Literature in the English Department at the University of York and Faculty Dean for Arts and Humanities. She publishes and speaks widely on Shakespeare in performance and she co-wrote and was Shakespeare advisor to the recently released British Macbeth feature film, directed by Kit Monkman. She is currently writing on Shakespeare and live theatre broadcast.
