Centre for Applied Human Rights event

Monica Mayer is a feminist Mexican artist, activist and art critic whose work includes performance, digital graphics, drawing, photography, and art theory.

Monica will discuss her role as a founding member of the Movimento Feminista Mexicano, her remarkable global piece, ‘El Tendedero/The Clothesline Project (1978)’ and her founding of ‘Polvo de Gallina Negra’ in 1983, the first feminist art collective in Mexico.
