Taking examples from his career in Boohoo, Zeus Capital, Palatine Private Equity and many other businesses, Richard Hughes gives insights into how businesses followed the market to bring great successes, as well as discussing the challenges that had to be overcome.

Woven throughout the presentation will be the determination and perseverance of him and his colleagues to achieve the greatest gains.

About the speaker

Richard Hughes

Richard is an entrepreneur and investor. He was a founder shareholder and director of boohoo.com twelve years ago which on its first day had one sale for £37 and has subsequently grown to a net turnover of £1.2bn and valued at circa £3.5 billion. He subsequently founded Zeus Capital Limited an Investment Bank which has advised on deals with a value of over £5.3 billion since 2013 and has historically completed 20 per cent of all the IPOs on AIM raising circa £1 billion per annum.

Richard is also a founding partner of Palatine Private Equity LLP which invests between £10m-30m in high growth companies and whose latest fund is circa £350m. In 2019 he was recognized by his peers as the leading Dealmaker over the last 25 years at an awards ceremony in Manchester. He is a director of Maggie’s cancer charity and Bookmark, a children’s reading charity.
