World Mental Health Day event

Join us for this fascinating talk hosted by Celeste Leverton, York alum and founder of Leverton Wealth Partners, a wealth advisory Practice providing tailored, relationship-led advice to individuals and families seeking a considered, long-term approach to wealth management.

Finance and money worries can contribute hugely to people's wellbeing, but most of us don't even know where to begin when it comes to thinking about money. This World Mental Health Day we hope to give you an overview on the topic and some tips and hints of where best to start.

During the session Celeste will talk about

  • Why financial wellbeing is such an important focus for her work at Leverton Wealth Partners.
  • Financial education in practice: She'll explore the current state of financial wellbeing in the UK, why so many people struggle to engage with their finances, and some of the common barriers to building long-term financial resilience.
  • Bringing it to life through cash-flow modelling: Demonstrating how cash-flow modelling can turn complex financial decisions into something visual and tangible, helping people understand where they are today, explore different life scenarios, and make more informed decisions about their future.
  • Practical tips you can implement immediately: Simple, actionable steps to improve financial wellbeing, including budgeting more effectively, building financial resilience, setting meaningful financial goals, and making your money work harder over the long term.

Here at the University of York we support cutting-edge research and grassroots initiatives, to develop innovative solutions and provide essential care that addresses unique mental health needs of our community.

Our goals are clear:

  • To develop ways to prevent mental health issues
  • To improve mental health care and how it is treated
  • Connect academics, students and partners in York who are working on mental health
