York Wellbeing Lectures

Despite years of prohibition illicit drugs continue to be used by millions of people in the UK. Research on this issue tends to focus on the risks and harms despite the majority of people using drugs for pleasure and fun. Understanding the route from pleasure to harm is critical if we are to think about how to reduce the risks to individuals and distinct groups. Join Ian Hamilton of the University of York's Department of Health Sciences.

Ian Hamilton

Ian Hamilton is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Health Sciences, University of York. He is also a registered mental health nurse who has over 20 years experience of working with people who have drug and alcohol problems. Ian writes a regular column for the Independent.
