The Box Office Assistants are responsible for selling tickets to members of the public, both in person and on the telephone, as well as dealing with online bookings, preparing reports with the Ticketsolve ticketing system, maintaining databases, banking cash from sales, and maintaining financial reports. The Box Office is open on term-time afternoons and concert evenings; the Box Office Assistants are also required to work occasional hours during the vacations, for example to set up new events on the box office system. The Box Office Assistants will be supported the Concerts General Assistant.
Note: Applicants should have significant prior experience of dealing with the general public and of cash handling. Good computer skills are also essential although training on the box office system will be available. Well in advance of applying, applicants are strongly advised to contact the Concerts Administrator, Celia Frisby, for further details about the responsibilities and to arrange an interview. Applicants should live within easy reach of campus.
This Assistantship is open to application from any postgraduate student, but could be of particular relevance/interest to a Community Musician with an interest in arts administration. Please feel free to discuss the possibilities with the Community Music course leader Bruce Cole.
