Future Voices Scholarship programme

A package of financial and industry support to welcome talented UK undergraduates from Black, Asian, Gypsy, Traveller and ethnically diverse backgrounds to our creative community. This support comprises a bursary of £1,200 per year for three years of the programme, plus targeted mentoring.

  • Funding: £3,600 (£1,200 a year over three years)

Be Exceptional 60th Anniversary scholarships

To celebrate our 60th anniversary, we're offering tuition fee discounts to international students.

  • Funding: £7,500
  • Academic year: 2023/24

  • Open to: International (including EU) students

Care Leavers and Estranged Students Bursary

This bursary is for students aged under 25, who come to York as care leavers or who are irreconcilably estranged from their parents.

Unite Accommodation Scholarship

The Unite Accommodation Scholarship covers the cost of accommodation bills for students who are estranged from their parents.

  • Funding: Accommodation costs for University student accommodation for a maximum of 3 years of study
  • Academic year: 2023/24

York Bursary

Depending on your household residual income you could be eligible for our non-repayable York bursary.

York Opportunity Scholarship 2023

The York Opportunity Scholarships have been established to provide support to talented students who have the academic potential to study at York.

  • Funding: £3,300 paid over three years
  • Academic year: 2023/24
  • Application deadline: Monday 2 October 2023, 11.59pm BST
  • Open to: UK (home) students

York Refugee Bursary

The Refugee Bursary is a non-repayable award for students who come to York and have a Refugee immigration status.

John Pilling Choral Scholarships

St Helen-with St Martin offer four choral scholarships lasting 12 months available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students: soprano, altos, tenors and basses.

  • Funding: £500 per annum

St Wilfrid's Church Scholarship

The Oratory of St Philip Neri at St Wilfrid's Catholic Church offers choral scholarships for soprano, alto, tenor and bass to form a quartet.

  • Funding: £1500 each
  • Academic year: 2023/24

  • Number available: 4

York Minster Choral Scholarships

York Minster offers choral scholarships lasting 12 months or longer to altos, tenors and basses who are undergraduate or postgraduate students.

  • Funding: £7032.48
  • Academic year: 2023/24
  • Department: Any
  • Open to: International (including EU) and UK (home) students

Yorkshire Bach Choir

These awards pay for vocal lessons for any students contributing to ensembles and singing in the Yorkshire Bach Choir. It could also be to increase the lesson allowance of Music students, particularly those who are part-time and specialising in performance.
