The Department of Music at the University of York is associated with two music presses: the University of York Music Press and the York Early Music Press. The presses publish music from as early as 1600 to the latest compositions by York composers.

The York Early Music Press (YEMP), was established in 2001 and provides performing editions of music composed before 1800. Scores are accompanied with specialised information including performance including pitch, forces, pronunciation, context.
