Dr Chris Bowman's Diagrammatic Algebra

Dr Chris Bowman’s new book, Diagrammatic Algebra (with a foreword by Geordie Williamson), is now available from Springer.
Dr Bowman's book gives an elementary and visual approach to undergraduate group theory: first encountering Coxeter groups through their actions on puzzles, necklaces, and Platonic solids; then building up to representations of Temperley–Lieb algebras and binary Schur algebras using the language of coloured Pascal triangles. The book culminates with an explicit and entirely diagrammatic treatment of Geordie Williamson’s explosive torsion counterexamples to Lusztig’s conjecture in complete and glorious detail.
