IT Services staff shortlisted for Professional@York awards

Posted on 10 March 2015

We're pleased to announce that both individuals and teams from IT Services have been nominated for a number of Professional@York awards.

Next week, the newly-established Professional@York awards will celebrate the contribution that support staff make to the University. We’re excited that members of IT Services have been shortlisted for five separate awards.

Tom Smith has been shortlisted in the categories of Unsung Hero and Outstanding Use of Technology (the latter in collaboration with Caryn Douglas of the White Rose College of the Arts & Humanities).

Andrew Smith has been shortlisted for Outstanding Project of the Year, in recognition of a project which established a high performance computing service and provided technical support for researchers.

Members of the Enterprise Systems Group within IT Services worked with colleagues from Estates and Campus Services, and Student Services on the Kinetics & Pams Replacement Project which is also shortlisted in the Outstanding Project of the Year category.

Finally, the IT Support Office have been shortlisted for the Outstanding Customer Service award, where they’ll be up against (amongst others) our colleagues in the Borthwick Institute for Archives!

Best wishes to them all.
