With the aim of fundraising for Menfulness, the Mental Health Awareness Society has organised a panel to discuss the important topic of men’s mental health. The panelists will be addressing several key issues through a moderated discussion. These questions will include:

  • ‘How can we fight the stigma around Men’s Mental Health?’
  • ‘How can we create a welcoming environment for men to reach out about their mental health?’
  • ‘How can we - as friends, family, partners - support someone that is struggling with their mental health?’


The confirmed panelists are:


Prof Paul Galdas - Professor of Nursing and Men's Health, University of York

Grant Denkinson - Open Door Practitioner, University of York

Kelly Walker - University of York Alumni and Mental Health Nurse.

Alan Chambers - Qualified Counsellor and Co-Founder of Legions Gym York.

 

 

Important notes:

  • Due to the cost of living crisis, there are two types of tickets available; a type of ticket that is FREE, and another type of ticket that is £3 (this is so people can donate if they want/are able to). Tickets are available to purchase on the YUSU website, with all profits made being donated to Menfulness.
  • There's restricted wheelchair access in CL/A/057.
  • You will be required to provide identification on entry to the venue.
  • Event tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Refreshments, such as discounted price doughnuts, will also be available on the door.
