History taught MA applicants eligible for £5,000 award

YuFund/YGRS Masters Scholarships 2017-18

The University of York Faculty of the Arts and Humanities is offering two awards of £5,000 each to students who will be commencing their MA studies in Autumn 2017.

To be considered for one of the awards (via the Department of History) you must:

  • Be a current student at the University of York.
  • Have accepted a place on one of the Taught MA Programmes in the Department of History by 5.00pm on Friday 31 March 2017.

There is no need to apply directly for the award; if you meet the above criteria by the 31 March 2017, you will automatically be considered. The award will be assessed according to the following criteria (listed in order of priority):

  • Academic excellence, assessed via your application to the MA programme, including your CV and letters of reference.
  • Suitability for, and commitment to, the proposed programme. This will be assessed through your personal statement.
  • Evidence of your potential to undertake a research degree at York.

Any queries about this award can be directed to the Department Manager Caroline Edwards.

The successful applicants will be notified directly. If you have not been contacted by early May 2017, please assume you have been unsuccessful on this occasion. However, there will still be the opportunity to be considered for the Department’s other scholarships which will be awarded in June 2017.
