Sketching the Sublime

Is it possible to surpass scale and sketch the sublime?  The National Gallery is hosting this event to complement their exhibition of the work of Frederic Church, 'Through American Eyes: Frederic Church and the Landscape Oil Sketch'.  Sarah Turner will join Christopher Riopelle, Christopher Baker, Margaretta Lovell and Jennifer Raab as she presents her paper 'A broad brush?  The landscape oil sketch in 19th-century Europe and America.'
