To mark the opening of the exhibition Devotion by Design: Italian Altarpieces before 1500, the Renaissance Consortium and the Material Life of Things Project of The Courtauld Institute of Art Research Forum, in collaboration with the National Gallery, UCL and the University of York, are hosting an informal study day and symposium dedicated to the subject of late medieval and renaissance Italian altarpieces.
