TNE Opportunity Assessment Process
1. TNE opportunity proposed
Proposer contacts global-partnerships@york.ac.uk.
Global Partnerships team works with the proposer and prospective partner to establish initial opportunity information.
2. Global Partnerships Team logs opportunity and prepares information for triage
3. Initial Triage
A Screening Group performs a "fail-fast” alignment check on proposed opportunity considering market, discipline, delivery model, and top-level indicative financials
Screening Group membership will be flexible depending on the type of opportunity but will always include:
- PVC-ES
- Relevant faculty Associate Dean for International
- GRMA senior partnerships manager
- The screening group might also include
- Relevant APVC (dependent on region/market)
- Relevant Faculty Associate Dean for Education and Students
- Education Partnership Manager, AQ
If opportunity is progressed
4. Stage 1 Evaluation
GRMA Partnership Manager works with the proposer and external partners to complete Stage 1 Evaluation, a scored assessment of opportunity against TNE strategic criteria set by UIC.
Screening Group reviews completed evaluation form, commissions enhanced due diligence if required, considers prioritisation, and submits recommendation to UIC.
5. University International Committee Decision
Scored opportunity considered by UIC for decision whether to progress or reject the opportunity.
UIC will also recommend the appropriate onward development and approvals route:
- High Threshold
- Dedicated Project Development Support
- UEB/Council Approval Track
- Standard Threshold
- BAU Support: Faculty and Global Partnerships team
- UIC Approval Track
