Joy Parvin is retiring

It’s an understatement to say she will be greatly missed and we're finding it hard to imagine CIEC or CCI without her.

Joy’s involvement with science education began in the classroom in the 1980s. Her work developing science curriculum resources led her to join CIEC, where she continued creating teaching materials and professional development programmes for teachers across the UK.

Joy took on the responsibility for leading CIEC’s Primary Team in 1996 before becoming Director in 2008. In this role, she has guided strategic work to enhance the quality of science teaching and learning in the UK and beyond.
