South Korean policymakers visit York

During October, the Department of Social Policy and Social Work hosted a visit from South Korean researchers and officials working in the field of social care.
Staff from the Presidential Committee on Jobs and the Korea Institute for Health Social Affairs discussed the funding and delivery and funding challenges facing Korean policymakers. Professor Yvonne Birks and Dr Mark Wilberforce (SPRU) gave presentations on policy directions and innovations across England and Wales.
In 2017 the Department of Social Policy and Social Work signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs to undertake mutual cooperation in teaching and research. Collaborations include those around health and social care, social security, and family policy.
