The Department of Social Policy and Social Work has been named one of the UK’s most highly regarded departments for the subject of Social Work. We are ranked 4th in the UK in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021.
Published annually, the Times University Guide ranks 131 UK universities by undergraduate degree subjects according to teaching quality; student experience; research quality; entry standards; graduate prospects; Firsts/2:1s; completion rate; student-staff ratio; and services/facilities spend.
The rankings are based on official data collected by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), the National Student Survey published by HEFCE and the Research Excellence Framework 2014.
The following departments at York also received top 10 rankings: Biology, Chemistry, English, Spanish, Nursing and Psychology.
