Karen Mumford appointed to NHS pay review body

Professor Karen Mumford of the University of York Management School has been appointed to the National Health Service Pay Review Body (NHSPRB).

Professor Karen Mumford of the University of York Management School has been appointed to the National Health Service Pay Review Body (NHSPRB).   This is a Secretary of State approved appointment.

The NHSPRB is responsible for making recommendations on the pay for just under 1.5 million NHS staff  (the majority of staff employed in the NHS). Members of the Board conduct research on pay and related matters, including visiting trusts and health units to meet staff and managers to gather information and views on pay and related issues. Karen will be one of the two economist members of the seven member Board, bringing her expertise on the gender pay gap and other salary-related matters to the NHSPRB.
