Sir Bernard Feilden made a special contribution to progressive thinking in heritage conservation at York and in his commitment to international collaboration and training.

The scholarship fund, donated by Conservation alumni, aims to provide support to remove financial barriers for international students who have the most to gain from coming to York to take advantage of the opportunities of studying heritage conservation here.

2026/27 is the last year this scholarship will run.

Eligibility

Open to International (including EU) students only.

Open to students in the Department of Archaeology.

Open to International (including EU) students/prospective students only.

Open to applicants to a full-time taught Masters programme in the Department of Archaeology, studying in September 2026/7. 

Please note: this opportunity is not restricted to students applying to the MA Conservation of Historic Buildings, MA International Studies and MA Sustainable Built Heritage courses. Applicants to other programmes will be considered if they demonstrate a conservation interest, and should demonstrate this in the application form.
