York's Conservation Alumni Association (YCAA) launches a new crowd-funding campaign today, to support scholarships for international students. They specially want to support students from less privileged countries and backgrounds to be welcome in York and helped to come here.

The Feilden Centenary Scholarship commemorates respected architect, Sir Bernard Feilden (pictured below), whose birth centenary was this year. He made a special contribution to progressive thinking in heritage conservation here at York. Feilden's conservation work spanned continents - from Europe to India, the Middle East, Canada and China – and the fund is a fitting memorial to his lifelong commitment to international collaboration and training.

Launching the campaign, Michael Atkinson, the YCAA Chair, said “Our overall campaign target is £9000 -  ambitious but with support from hundreds of York conservation alumni around the world we are very optimistic we can reach it.”
