Research by Paola Ponce Featured in New Archaeology Gallery at Brighton Museum
Five individual skeletons have been 'brought to life,' informed by osteological research
York's Dr Paola Ponce's research on human remains local to Brighton has been featured in a major new gallery opening. The Archaeology Gallery at Brighton Museum features stories and facial reconstructions of five individuals.

At the heart of this brand new family friendly Archaeology gallery are seven stunning and forensically accurate 3D facial reconstructions revealing the faces of our ancestors and the people who would have been present in and around Brighton and Hove from the Ice Age to the Saxon era. The bust in the image is of a young Neolithic woman buried nearly 6,000 years ago in the entrance of Whitehawk Causewayed Enclosure.
The exhibition opens on Friday 25 January with a celebration of the Elaine Evans Archaeology gallery. Opening speeches at 7pm by Cllr Allan Robins, the gallery sponsor Elaine Evans and special guest: Time Team’s Prof Carenza Lewis.
