Volunteer at least 1 day a year to support climate action and sustainability in education settings. You can offer anything from short specialist advice or activities to longer-term support as a change agent, either in-person or online, with one or multiple settings. Ambassadors receive a free DBS check, safeguarding and climate training, plus resources and support from the regional hub team. York SU and ESAY and are looking to recruit 10 student volunteers to work as Responsible Futures Auditors. This voluntary opportunity is a great experience for those with an interest in sustainability in Higher education institutions, an interest in systems change, and those keen to develop evaluation, interviewing and decision making skills. No previous experience is required—just an eagerness to learn and an interest in gaining evaluation and audit skills. As a student auditor you will receive training on evaluating evidence and interviewing to help you complete the audit. Volunteers must be available between 9am and 4.30pm on 2 and 3 December. As a College Sustainability Challenge Volunteer you will take part in a one-hour training session where you will learn top tips on how to live sustainably in your accommodation. After this you can take part in various activities to make your campus more sustainable and earn bronze, silver, gold and platinum digital badges, which you can put on your CV to demonstrate your skills and commitment to sustainability.
