The University is a stimulating place to study and provides excellent learning resources to support your academic work.
Since 2000, we have invested in 20 new buildings on the Heslington West campus and completed the first phase of a £750m campus expansion at Heslington East. For York students our investment has meant major improvements to existing academic buildings and the construction of new ones.
Every student at the University is provided with an IT account giving access to all centrally provided PCs and Unix systems. Facilities include: central file storage, free access to email and the internet, wireless access points across the campus, IT classrooms, study areas, printing facilities and software provision.
Yorkshare is the University of York’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), and it offers you enhanced or new types of learning experiences such as simulation, discussion, collaboration and self-directed study activities, alongside your regular class contact time with staff and other students.
The University of York Library & Archives network consists of several libraries on the Heslington campus and in the local area. Our collections include over 1.7 million items, access to over 17,000 e-books and 15,000 print and electronic journals, and specialist research and archive material.
