Yorkshire business leaders will have the opportunity to learn how they could benefit from computer science research at an event at the University of York.
The Department of Computer Science are inviting representatives of the region’s technology sector to find out more about its staff’s world-leading research and the way students are being prepared for the workplace.
The open evening will also include details of how companies can take advantage of the skills of York Computer Science students through the University’s summer internship scheme.
Professor John McDermid, Head of the Department of Computer Science, said: “We have a strong track record of working with major international companies and we want to extend that opportunity to more organisations in Yorkshire.
“This event is a chance for the region’s technology sector to get a better insight into what we do and to discuss potential partnership opportunities.”
Places at this free event, on 9 June, can be reserved by contacting Sarah Christmas on sarahc@cs.york.ac.uk or telephone (01904) 433385.
