Dr Colin Lindsay of TYMS has been awarded a White Rose Collaboration grant to establish an international research network on the problems faced by people claiming long-term sickness and disability benefits. Dr Lindsay will lead the research with colleagues from the Clinical Psychology Unit at the University of Sheffield and the School of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Leeds. The award will fund an international, cross-disciplinary seminar series bringing together experts in public management, welfare reform, occupational health and clinical psychology. The White Rose team hope to produce a research publication that will inform future health and employment policies to help people with health problems to move from welfare to work. The first seminar event will be held at TYMS later this year.
