The visual performance research project, Lines of Flight, by TYMS faculty member Dr Martin Wood and a colleague from Durham University, which incorporates a short documentary film as part of the OTB group’s new Working Lives initiative, continues to target wider public and practitioner audiences, as well as specific scholarly outputs.
In addition to being accepted for the SAGE publications journal Organization, the documentary film continues to be promoted successfully at film festivals internationally. These include: the Torelló Mountain and Adventure Film Festival, Spain, one of the most important festivals of its kind in the world, and the Fernie Mountain Film Festival, Canada, both of which are dedicated to filmmakers who engage with mountain cultures and global environments.
Lines of Flight has also been chosen as a contribution for the Graz International Mountain and Adventure Film Festival, the most prominent mountain and adventure film festival with competitive selection in German speaking Europe, as well as being picked as a finalist from over 300 worldwide entries for the high-status Banff Mountain Festival, Canada, which is attended annually by an audience of over 10,000.
