Barbara Bechter and Bernd Brandl presented their research at the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE) 2012 – 24th Annual Meeting at the MIT and at the International Labour and Employment Relations Association (ILERA) 2012 – 16th World Congress in Philadelphia. These included papers on ‘The governance of labour standards in the European member states: Levels of consensus in times of globalisation’, presented by Barbara Bechter, Bernd Brandl and Guglielmo Meardi of Warwick Business School; ‘How hard is the ‘soft’ route? The case of the implementation of the European framework agreement on Telework’ Barbara Bechter, Bernd Brandl and Tom Prosser of Cardiff Business School; ‘Prospects of European sector bargaining: Necessary and sufficient conditions for the occurrence of supranational interest coordination’ presented by Barbara Bechter, Bernd Brandl and Guglielmo Meardi of the Warwick Business School and ‘The effects on political legitimacy of involving employee and employer associations in public policy making’, by Bernd Brandl.
