Join the Giving Day Student Engagement Team

Working as a Giving Day Student Engagement Ambassador is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience of student engagement, communications and campaign activity, while helping to make Giving Day 2026 a success.

What's involved?

You will work alongside another Student Engagement Ambassador to help engage York students in Giving Day. You'll have the opportunity to get creative, build relationships with student groups and societies, create social media content and run activities on campus.

As a Giving Day Student Engagement Ambassador, you'll benefit from:

  • Approximately 5 hours of flexible project work, plus a 1-hour weekly team meeting
  • £13.52 per hour (plus 12.07% holiday pay)
  • Full support and guidance from the Giving Day team
  • Hands-on experience in student engagement, communications and campaign activity
  • The opportunity to develop your networking, creativity and digital skills
  • A professional reference at the end of your role
  • The chance to help raise awareness and support for four important causes at York

  • The closing date for applications is 9am on 21 September 2026.
  • You must be available to work on campus and be reachable during Giving Day week, Monday 2 November – Thursday 5 November 2026.
