A transcript is a full record of your study, including marks received for different modules, award dates, FHEQ levels, award mark scales and so forth. A digital copy of your transcript will be uploaded to Gradintel and made available on the date of your graduation, and physical copies can be purchased through the Online Store.

  • If you have not yet completed your course and purchased a physical transcript, an interim transcript will be produced which will show the marks you have available so far - you can not obtain a full transcript before your graduation. We can also validate a printed copy of your marks free of charge.
  • We are unable to arrange delivery by courier - if you wish to do this yourself (bearing the cost yourself) this is also unfortunately temporarily unavailable.
  • If you studied more than one programme (a BA and then an MA, for instance) you will need to order a separate transcript for each programme.

Find more on getting your marks validated for free if you don't require an official transcript.

Digital transcripts

The process for obtaining a digital copy of your transcript via Gradintel varies slightly depending on when you studied with us:

Current students will be invited to register for Gradintel as part of their graduation registration process. For any other current students, please use the ’Validating your marks from e:Vision’ process, or purchase a transcript through our Online Store.

We have already registered you with a Gradintel account, which you can activate and access using the Gradintel account recovery process.

Please complete the Gradintel registration request form and a member of the team will get back in touch about your account registration.

It may not be possible to register some accounts with a graduation date prior to January 2014.

Please continue to place orders for physical copies of transcripts through our Online Store.

Not all Departments hold comprehensive archived records for previous graduates, and as such we are unable to guarantee that a complete set of detailed module information has been retained for all former students. While we will make every effort to obtain your past marks in order to produce a transcript, we can only do so if your Department has retained this information.

If a full list of modules and marks is unavailable, we will produce a confirmation letter listing any modules we could obtain, as well as general details of your studies on official letter-headed paper in place of a transcript.

PDF copies of transcripts can also be purchased through the online store. Please state 'PDF copy' in the 'additional requirements' field of the order form.

Physical transcripts

Physical transcripts can be posted to you. If you have any specific requirements as part of your transcript order (such as a reference number to be included), you can add this information in the additional requirements field of the Online Store order form. If these requirements relate to any additional documents (such as a cover sheet) you must email the document(s) to transcripts@york.ac.uk within 24 hours of placing your order.

Due to COVID-19, collection of physical transcripts is currently unavailable.
