What we do

The Child Welfare Research Group specialises in research on children and young people involved with children’s social care. 

Research carried out by CWRG researchers over the past thirty years has influenced national and local  policy and practice and has had a direct impact on the experiences of children and young people in and leaving care.

Who we are

Emeritus Professor Nina Biehal and Jo Dixon co-direct the Child Welfare Research Group.

The group includes leading researchers with international reputations for research and evaluation and highly skilled research fellows with extensive experience of research and evaluation.
