The Global Methane Assessment released by the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), with support from SEI researchers, shows that human-caused methane emissions can be reduced by up to 45% this decade.

“Methane is second, only to carbon dioxide, when it comes to driving climate change. The Assessment shows that to put the world on a path that is consistent with the Paris Agreement target of 1.5°C, methane emissions must be reduced by 45% by 2030.”
