Speakers:

Dr. Jim Buller

Professor Neil Carter

Dr Ignacio Jurado

Abstract:

The speakers will analyse the main features of the campaign, with a focus on the TV debates, the overall media coverage, the issues that structured the public debate and the main events that punctuated the period before Election Day. Special attention will be paid to how the thorny topics of the economy and the EU have been dealt with by the candidates. The panel will also discuss the socio-demographics of the vote and will provide a landscape of the voter profile of each party. Last but not least, the speakers will zoom in on post-election politics with a view to offering a critical perspective on the formation of the new government.
