David Efird Masters Scholarship
For September 2024 entry, the Department of Philosophy is offering the David Efird Masters Scholarship which is in the form of a £5,000 reduction in fees.
The scholarship is aimed at all students pursuing research in the field of philosophy of religion, or research on contemporary issues or themes using a philosophy of religion perspective. The Scholarship is generously funded by the family of Dr David Efird, who taught at York from 2002 until his sudden death in 2020.
Open to International (including EU) and UK (home) students.
Open to students in the Department of Philosophy.
To be considered for the scholarship, you must be holding an offer of a place on the MA in Analytic Theology or the MA in Philosophy by 26 April 2024.
Application deadline: Friday 26 April 2024, 11.59pm BST
Students are not required to apply for the Scholarship separately as they will automatically be considered for it on the basis of their MA application. Candidates for this award must describe their plans to pursue research in analytic theology or the philosophy of religion in their application.
The successful candidate will be notified by 17 May 2024 and reserve candidates will also be notified.
The awarding of the scholarship will be subject to candidates meeting any outstanding conditions of their offer of a place on the MA programme and registration on that programme.
